Finikas Beach
Overview
Finikas Beach, also known as Phoenix Beach, is a tranquil coastal spot located approximately 700 meters west of Loutro in the Sfakia region of southwestern Crete. Named after the ancient city of Phoenix, whose ruins are nearby, this beach offers a blend of natural beauty and historical significance. The beach features clear, deep blue waters and a pebbled shoreline, making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling. A small taverna near the beach serves local Cretan dishes, providing a perfect setting for relaxation. Accessible by a short 15-minute walk from Loutro or by boat from Chora Sfakion, Finikas Beach remains relatively uncrowded, offering visitors a peaceful retreat away from the more frequented tourist spots.
