Grammenou Beach
Overview
Grammenou Beach, also known as Paralia Grammenou, is located about 4 km west of Paleochora, on a small peninsula in the Gialos area. It features both sandy and pebbly shores, making it a diverse coastal destination. The waters are crystal clear and shallow, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. \n\rThe beach is well-sheltered from strong winds, offering calm conditions throughout most of the year. On the eastern side, you’ll find quiet pebbly coves like Alonaki and Votsalo, perfect for solitude. The western sandy beach is more accessible and suitable for families. \n\rA unique feature of the area is the presence of ancient cedar trees, which provide natural shade and are protected due to their rarity. The beach is easily accessible by road, with free parking and a few nearby tavernas and accommodations. \n\rSome parts are organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, while others remain untouched for a more natural experience. Grammenou offers a peaceful and picturesque setting for all types of visitors.
