Hiking Trail: Chora Sfakion

This challenging yet beautiful hiking trail connects Chora Sfakion with Loutro, Sweet Water Beach (Glyka Nera), and Aradena Gorge. The 15.6 km route offers breathtaking views of the Libyan Sea and the rugged Cretan landscape. The first segment from Chora Sfakion to Sweet Water Beach takes about an hour, with scenic coastal views. From Sweet Water Beach, the trail leads to Loutro, a peaceful village, and then to Marmara Beach. Afterward, hikers ascend through the dramatic Aradena Gorge to Aradena Village, where the hike ends. The total duration is 7 to 7.5 hours, making it an ideal day-long adventure for experienced hikers. Starting early is essential to avoid the midday heat.
