Kamini Beach
Overview
Kamini Beach is a secluded coastal area near the ancient Minoan site of Gournia, close to Pachia Ammos in eastern Crete. The area features five pebble beaches set against a backdrop of limestone formations and reddish soil, creating a striking natural landscape. Remnants of Minoan structures, including rooms and boathouses, are present near the shoreline, indicating the area's historical significance as Gournia's access point to the sea.\n\rWhile the beaches are exposed to northern winds, leading to occasional debris accumulation, they offer clear turquoise waters and a peaceful environment during calm weather. Access can be challenging due to the rugged terrain, but the area's natural beauty and archaeological interest make it a unique destination for adventurous visitors.
