Keratides Beach
Overview
Keratides Beach is a tranquil stretch located just east of Paleochora, in the Gialos area of southern Crete. Approximately 1 km from the town center, it is easily accessible by foot or car. The beach is characterized by its coarse pebbles and clear, cool waters, making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling.\n\rThe beach is mostly unorganized, offering a peaceful atmosphere away from the crowds. However, there is a section near the Pearl Cavo beach bar and the Paleochora Camping site that provides some amenities, including sunbeds and umbrellas.\n\rKeratides Beach is favored by those seeking solitude and a connection with nature. Its natural surroundings and lack of commercial development make it a perfect spot for relaxation. The beach is also known to be nudism-friendly in certain areas.\n\rThe area is exposed to winds, so it's advisable to check the weather conditions before planning a visit. Despite this, the beach's serene environment and beautiful sunsets make it a worthwhile destination for visitors to Paleochora.
