Military Museum of Chromonastiri

The Military Museum of Chromonastiri is located in the village of Chromonastiri, about 11 kilometers southeast of Rethymno city. The museum is housed in the Villa Clodio, an impressive 1610 building that was once the summer residence of Venetian aristocrats. The museum’s collection includes military items from the Venetian era, the Cretan Revolution, the Balkan Wars, and the Macedonian Struggle. In addition to the indoor exhibits, the museum’s outdoor area features military aircraft, helicopters, and tanks, providing a comprehensive view of military history.
