The Neradje Mosque, located in Rethymno's Old Town, is a historical monument reflecting the city's Venetian and Ottoman past. Originally built as the Santa Maria Church of the Augustinian monastery during Venetian rule, it was converted into a mosque in 1657 following the Ottoman conquest. The structure features three domes and a notable minaret added in 1890, which stands as the tallest in the city. Today, the building functions as a music conservatory, hosting various cultural events.
