Overview
Paralia Stomio is a secluded beach located approximately 74 km south of Chania and just 1 km north of the Monastery of Panagia Chrysoskalitissa, near the village of Livadia. Its name, "Stomio," meaning "mouth" in Greek, refers to the nearby river mouth that flows into the sea during the winter months. \n\rThe beach is characterized by large pebbles and some sandy areas, with deep, cool waters that are often wavy, making it less suitable for families but ideal for those seeking solitude. The beach is not organized, lacking facilities, but a small tavern is situated nearby. Access is convenient via the main road connecting Chania to Chrysoskalitissa and Elafonissi. \n\rAdjacent to the beach are the ruins of an old gypsum factory and the picturesque chapel of Agii Theodoroi. A pine forest extends from the southeastern part of the beach up into the mountains, enhancing the natural beauty of the area
