In the eastern suburbs of Chania, in a location of historical importance and a panoramic view of Souda Bay, are the tombs of two of the most important figures in modern Greek history: Eleftherios Venizelos and his son, Sophocles Venizelos.The tombs of the Venizelos are a place of pilgrimage for many Greeks, as well as a place of historical importance. The site is respectfully landscaped and features a peaceful pine garden where visitors can enjoy the view and reflect on the life and work of the two great politicians.
